To address the evolving requirements of automotive industry quality management systems, the prerequisites for attendance for the IATF 16949-1st/2nd Party Auditor-Examination (ID 250)have been recently updated.

This revision primarily introduces more stringent and specific requirements for training qualification documentation.The key changes focus on more explicit and higher requirements for auditor qualifications, specifically:the original personnel qualification requirement was "ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor", while the updated requirements now require simultaneously meeting the following conditions:

• ISO 19011 Auditor qualification

• ISO 9001:2015 Auditor qualification

• No less than 5 days of ISO 19011 and ISO 9001 training experience (e.g., ISO 9001 - Compact (ID 105) plus VDA Auditor Certificate (ID 104))

Currently, VDA QMC recognizes the following types of automotive core tools knowledge proof including:

• Training certificate for"Automotive Core Tools for System and Process Auditors" (ID 417 starting from 2019) 

• Training certificate for"Automotive Core Tools (ACT) for Quality Management in the Automotive Industry" (ID 415 starting from 2022)  

• Evidence of participation in a minimum two-day training about Automotive Core Tools by another training provider, as well as passing of the Automotive Core Tools online quiz(If the quiz is not passed, the course "Automotive Core Tools for System and Process Auditors" (ID 417) must be completed.)
